The Improbable Son Premiere - an occasion to remember!
The 'Premiere' of The Improbable Son - a great success! The Premiere of “The Improbable Son”
was held by Peak Vision TV on 16th November at Cineworld in Chesterfield.
Brilliantly received by all, the film was shown in the largest auditorium
and had a fantastic turnout of around 200 people, including “Uncle
Michael the Clown” (Michael Fentem) who played the lead role, and
local actor Martyn Gillie who played Sir Richard Arkwright. Some travelled
from as far as Newcastle, London and Birmingham especially to be there.
Truely a day to remember for all those involved in this production!
Behind the scenes on location ...
This short light-entertainment film of approximately
35 minutes duration and is set in the Derbyshire Dales.
This lovable clown decides to take his inheritance and leave home to go out into the big wide world, hoping to build a life for himself.
He visits many places looking for true happiness,
and makes a lot of 'fly-by-night' friends along the way, including a lady-friend,
with whom he intends to spend the rest of his life.
Eventually his money runs out and things start to
go pear-shaped. He finds that life in the big wide world is not all he
hoped for. There is no dialogue but mime is used with music and sound effects to enhance the story-telling, therefore removing the limitation so often imposed by language barriers.
In total there was a cast of 60 people and many locations involved, so the organisation was a huge task. Most of the locations were outside and the filming was mainly scheduled during our August 2004, the wettest August on record. Having our portable facilities for working on location proved highly beneficial for changing, make-up, and providing refreshments.
