Producing a streamed corporate video
If you are thinking of having a corporate video
produced, then now is the time to consider the options available to you.
You most likely will be thinking of having a corporate DVD. However, you
may not have considered one of the most effective forms of corporate production
available to you today.
Why not have your corporate production streamed?
Your corporate production can be made available
for viewing on the Internet, and more specifically, can be incorporated
into your company website, readily available for viewing by prospective
customers.
Below is an example of one of our streamed corporate videos:
What is streaming?
This is a technique enabling audio and video to
be made available for viewing over the Internet, using broadband.
To create streaming media, the amount of data that is stored needs to
be reduced whilst still retaining as much detailed information as required.
In order to carry out this process a codec (compressor / decompressor)
is used. Firstly the video is compressed, prior to being streamed and
then secondly the data is decompressed during playback to reproduce the
video and sound.
Although the viewing area for streamed video is
often limited and the quality of the programme is far from broadcast quality
television, there is a growing trend for businesses to incorporate streamed
video on their websites.
When shooting and editing video for use on the Internet, it is important
that the highest quality is ensured throughout in order to compensate
for the inevitable losses of compression. (The
University of Washington touches on this subject.) Shots need to be
planned and filmed with streaming in mind as any content that gives the
codecs more work will result in loss of image quality.
At Peak Vision TV we provide a professional approach to streaming media
incorporating the following:
- careful planning before shooting including development of script and
shot list
- using professional broadcast-quality cameras
- camera work specifically appropriate for streaming content (see views
of University of Washington - Creating Streaming Media)
- use of professional lighting producing high quality images
- use of professional audio equipment
- quality control of images and audio maintained throughout the process
using vector scopes, waveform monitors and audio vector scopes (compliant
with broadcast standards)
- working according to our stringent procedures based on the broadcast
industry standards in all productions
The cost of a streamed corporate video
Peak Vision TV can produce a corporate production,
encode it, and stream it on the Internet, with costs starting from as
little as £700 per produced minute of content.
Our hosting services start from as little as £20 per month depending
on the duration of your programme and the bandwidth your require.
If you would like your corporate video to be streamed you need to inform
us during our initial discussions. Our decision-making will be affected
right from the early stages of production. We can then plan the shooting
and editing carefully right from the start, to ensure we maintain the
highest image quality throughout the process.
